The aquaponics

approach is gaining in popularity as a sustainable gardening method and if you're curious to try it

out for yourself, there are some great hacks for building your own system.Just see the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEix_-CLhAY
this will help you to build your own aquaponics..Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09743787009057642771noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2212146759454820255.post-45951883673417784692013-04-21T20:08:12.271-07:002013-04-21T20:08:12.271-07:00Exciting. I'm relocating to my yard, but am relatively unsure what I might end up with.
I'll blog when I get rollin.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07343316720886022266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2212146759454820255.post-48137893565381257592013-04-18T11:10:37.070-07:002013-04-18T11:10:37.070-07:00Looking forward to seeing your projects for 2013 S... Looking forward to seeing your projects for 2013 Scott.
I'm still waiting on the Bio Ball before I can get rolling.
I built one like yours except, I used a 1/2" T on top (intake) and inserted a plug. Now if I need to add more Bennie's, kill the pump, pop the plug and add back.
I thought I'd use clay balls until the Bio Balls get here. I reversed intake and discharge and made in a closed system just to see how fast the Bennie's multiply. Hope I'm on the right track.sonofdusthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01191665574931395961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2212146759454820255.post-77125635319835905672013-03-24T12:50:34.384-07:002013-03-24T12:50:34.384-07:00Sonofdust -

I might try two of these for a 36 gallon set up. I use it to feed my NFT system, normally, although we are about to redesign for 2013. I'll blog once we get started.
We've abandoned the aquaponic pond. I'm trying organic/hydroponics, using worm/compost teas and other organic nutrients.Scotthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07343316720886022266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2212146759454820255.post-19920843309664601082013-03-24T12:20:28.561-07:002013-03-24T12:20:28.561-07:00Scott;

I hope to have one up and running soon.
Just a couple of questions if you don't mind.
Would it be feasible to use 1/2" PVC for the intake and a 1" discharge? The reason I ask is you mentioned (scraps laying around.)
You don't use a air stone? Last but not least. Do you think a unit this size will take care of a 8 bucket RDWC units,aproxamently 36 gallons.
Thank You.sonofdusthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01191665574931395961noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2212146759454820255.post-73882931263815552532013-02-05T22:02:30.699-08:002013-02-05T22:02:30.699-08:00Check out the Grow and Bloom packs from kelp4less....Check out the Grow and Bloom packs from kelp4less.
